We too are caring hosts and are often flabbergasted by guests’ review suggestions. The latest gave only 3 stars for cleanliness because she said our sink drains needed a clean, and yet when I just checked, all our sinks are free flowing. This guest had heavy luggage and trouble with her Uber account, so I even paid for her Uber to the local station. We are fed up with Airbnb’s review system and have ceased caring about maintaining our Superhost status.

What a well said comment!
I was also a caring host, and the complaints also hurt my feelings… I have canceled my account with Airbnb after 2 guest blackmailed me with bad reviews if I forced them to pay for damages they had done to my house. Airbnb uses you, your home and your resources, they don’t provide anything but a website. And hosts are threatened all the time if they don’t have 5 stars!
It was a super stressful experience, please be careful.

have the same problem.

different strokes for different folks, other mighr consider my place clean others may not. although we really make a point to really clean the unit. some of our guest thinks that this may never be enough. and other conpare prices too. they base their review base on the other hotels ot condo they have check.in when in fact your rooms are not the same.

I am an Airbnb guest, and the review process is a pain. That part of the service needs to be reviewed and fixed.

Couldn’t agree more! Guests need to work their way through 20+ evaluation criteria. Guess what when you offer budget accommodation and guests have the option to evaluate 20+ benchmarks as ‘exceptional’? It rarely happens….. Hence, you’re stuck with mediocre reviews…… My advice: move your property to several rental platforms e.g. VRBO, Wimdu etc
