In reply to Mare. Just because she has a valid point doesn't mean that she's trolling. You're *supposed* to do some research on an area before you book a stay there! It's not that hard. it's due diligence.

Hmmm. I think Maya is definitely trolling for AirBNB since her comments made to other dissatisfied renters also insinuate that they have somehow neglected to “follow the rules” or use common sense in their dealings with AirBNB.

‘Does anyone choose to vacation in Compton?’ Well. evidently you did or why did you book it in the first place? Don’t you research areas before you choose to stay there? Especially as you have kids? How weird.

Same thing happened to me. I booked in San Diego 90 days in advance. When I originally booked, there was a message regarding “reviews” on the Airbnb site for the location. It said “There are no current reviews for this property but check out other properties owned by this owner”. Later I checked with the site and found numerous reviews for the property I booked stating there were bed bugs, no parking and several renters had their cars vandalized. I cancelled about 8 hours after booking and lost $800. Tried to appeal but no consideration from Airbnb or the owner. He was able to re-book and still took $800 from me. I am betting someone will file a Class Action suit regarding this stupid and potentially illegal “instant booking”
