Fairly comm procedure in all accommodation platforms that if you book for a third party it is subject to cancellation.

In this case Airbnb vets the people using the site to try to avoid any nasty situations, and that vetting achieves nothing if they vet you and you book for someone else.

As a Host via Airbnb you must have known that 3rd Party Bookings are not permitted. You are lucky that Airbnb have not terminated your account.

Oh come on as a host you know third party bookings are against Airbnb rules. I am sure your mother was perfectly capable of setting up her own account and making the booking.

Of course the host behaved appallingly but you gave him the opportunity to do this by making a third party booking.

What sort of reviews did this host have by the way ?
