A very negative review during an investigation is just cheap tit for tat...I myself invited Airbnb to remove not only the review from the recent past guest (who managed to destroy 2 appliances which have been fully functional in the property for about 18 years) but also my review....this because we hosts have more to lose from a negative review especially when other guests are arriving at the property and they starts having second thoughts because they read a "tit for tat" nastiness which isn't objective and only meant to cause damage to our reputation.
It reminds me the origin of Ebay...does anyone remember the tit for tat negatives we received for faulty goods and started complaining? The present Airbnb acts just like that...start a complain and you are in trouble (just put up and shut up?).
It took about a decade for Ebay to rectify the problem....I hope Airbnb are going to realize sooner - too late for me anyhow as I've just left that ugly bunch
