Wattawatta is correct. You should not have cancelled the reservation yourself because that means that Airbnb has to stick to the host’s refund policy. You need to call Airbnb immediately instead of your hosts. Then they should have been able to record the problem, rebook you somewhere and secure the refund by sending the money back BEFORE it’s sent to your host.

are you for real why should she have to go throught all that unfortunatly people are seagulls as long as they arent affected they just care about themselves thats why companys do all that refunds dont happen because people wont support each other read the revews and help clean up these useless companys

Yeah… If you book something from Airbnb and there is a serious problem, you call the airbnb. Not the host. It is stupid to just hang up because you don’t want to interrupt your shopping when there is 1500$ at stake. If you can not send any email, you call them. That is why they have a non-stop support. Sorry, but it is on you that you didn’t get a refund.
