I had a similar experience with the, but fortunately the Air b&b staff dealing with my case were unusually great, so it got sorted out. A lot of hosts think they can get away by lying about bed numbers etc. In my case it is advertised as 2 beds, while there is in fact one 3.5' bed to share between 2 people.

UPDATE- The review of this host that Airbnb solicited from me (and that I spent precious time on my trip writing, only to see I'd been cut off mid sentence) has not been posted on Airbnb's site. My stay with this host is now listed as "cancelled". In the meantime, 3 new and completely positive reviews of the host have been posted. This, along with reading the other stories here of people decieved by air bnb hosts has taken away any feeling I had that just being "more careful" about choosing hosts could save me from future rotten experiences. If it were to happen to me again, I'd only have myself to blame, and the outcome could be far worse. It is outrageous that Airbnb continues to abet this host being deceptive and nasty with her guests and that they both continue to make money using her lies as bait. The only real change I see in her listing since I stayed, is that where the property is described, she now goes on at length about supposedly giving everyone who stays a key at check in. She says that if she is too busy to check guests in, she will leave a particular door unlocked and leave the key in the room. This is quite a security issue that she now at least openly admits to.
