Shared environments take a lot of give and take. People forget. That’s why you picked a place that is a fraction of what a hotel costs. Why did you check in if you felt uncomfortable there?

Awful places tend to get awful reviews. Did you check these, or take a risk on an untried place?

In the same breath, hosts are required to provide a description on the neighbourhood to set reasonable expectations. How far off base was this (if, in fact, there was a description)? You could argue this with Air.
