You probably won’t die. The COVID extenuating circumstances policy will be extended as governments require; right now it’s been extended once already, so, hang on, it may yet be extended through the summer. You can’t know until we get closer. Just keep your hair on and wait. Stop panicking and get a grip. So many have lost so much.

Exactly. Host doesn’t get paid until after you check in. So AirBnB holds onto the $$ until then. If they really wanted to be fair they could be. instead they leave it entirely up to the host. I am a host myself and i think its grossly unfair to keep 100% of someone’s money if they cancel, especially if they cancel so far in advance.

Apart from all your valid reasons there’s also the fact that uk has had in excess of 12000 deaths. Are you able to defer your date rather than cancel? This just seems wrong under the circumstances, in my understanding nothing is paid to the host untill after your stay date.
