At least airbnb showed the bad reviews. they deleted mine when i stick to the truth. They made me feel unvalued and as Rick said. the host should be apologetic and use the comment constructively.
Clean sheet is basic!
does it even need to be spelt out!?
and airbnb let them called us high maintenance? Then Airbnb would lose customers over time for sure.
there are many great hosts out there. They really need to stump out the bad ones for their own's sakes.

In reply to <a href="https://www.airbnbhell.com/airbnb-experience-hell-toronto/comment-page-1/#comment-17444">Paul</a>.

Not that I even need to explain myself to you Paul but this cheap Airbnb wasn't that cheap. There were plenty of other options half the price but we wanted a nice place in a good location so we paid double for that and to rent the entire place.
As I mentioned in my post she had very nice pictures of the place too- which she has taken down now as called her out on when I wrote to her- because they are all fake. The bedroom, the bathroom, the views, all of the photos were fake.
When I booked the place the few reviews she had were all positive. None of them mentioned fake photos or the lack of cleaning. It must have been before she started renting out back or back or they must be fake because it wasn't until I was already back that all of the negative ones showed up.

Wish I saw this when I wrote my comment. There are many reasons people do Airbnb over hotels, that isn't about the money. Sometimes Airbnb's cost way more than the aeverage hotel. I personally stay at them because I like to interact with the hosts and in an unfamiliar city they give me ideas of things to do which I didn't even have in my itenerary. Not to mention they are homier than a hotel.
It's just shit like this story that you have to avoid and be careful with hosts like this.
Otherwise it makes for a unique and fun experience.

Wow, that sounds horrible-reminds me of my own trip from hell. From the lack of communication to the lack of cleaning- same thing happened with my host. Up till the day of he was MIA. Although I liked how yours came back from the dead -after your trip was long over- and gave you the info then. That sucks man.

What I can't get over is how the host is listing this place if it doesn't comply with their apartments regulations, and then expecting their guests to lie for them. If you don't want your hosts to interact with the front desk then make a house manual. It's so mind-numbingly simple.

The kicker for me was how the doorman even agreed she was a bad host. I hope they catch her running this scam and put an end to it.

Paul, you do realize that reviews don't always show up right away. I've had this happen where I booked a place a month in advance and it wasn't until I got to my location where the place was a mess and there was no sleeping arrangement as described, when I looked back at the listing to double check that they had indeed mentioned and had a picture of a real bed (at the location it was 2 sleeping bags on the floor). Am I cheap too then for expecting an actual bed to be there? That was when I noticed reviews from more recently stating the issue with the "bed" and the lack of cleanliness, since they take a while to come in sometimes. Also asking for the bed to be made and not soaked in urine is hardly being considered "cheap".
Plus you have no idea how much the OP paid for the Airbnb.

ALSO: Why do I get the feeling that you're the owner of this airbnb? How did you even know what airbnb it was referring to? This is priceless and too funny!

Sounds more like a guest from hell: a typical cheapskate that expects a red carpet rolled down, even in the parking area. Reviews already mentioned erratic cleaning so why did you choose this Airbnb in the first place? Because youse is a cheapo!
